I recently spoke to an engaged couple going through pre-marital counseling. (It feels like pre-marital counseling was like an eternity ago for me. Lol.)

After the quick chit-chat, I asked them how pre-marital counseling was going. The engaged couple quickly expressed their gratitude for their pre-marital counselors’ authenticity and wisdom.

This couple is undergoing marriage preparation by discussing and addressing various hard topics related to marriage with honesty, reflection, dialogue, and prayer.

“It sounds like you’re doing some good, heart work” I remarked.

This resonated with me.

I have been in a season of growth. It’s been painful, but very good for me.

The Lord has me on a journey of transformation.

Deep, below-the-line-and-under-the-hood kind of work. This is what I want to do.

I’m not after quick fixes or surface-level solutions.

I want nothing less than transformation.

Deep work is good work.

This is what I want to do with fathers in general, and new fathers in particular.

Pray for me. I feel like something is shifting in my soul and I’m excited to walk in step with the Spirit.
